🌿 In the Footsteps of Mrs. Årsta

Next available date: July 23.

City, nature and a life recorded in everyday life

Join a walk through Årsta – where city meets landscape, and where history lives on in the words of Märta Helena Reenstierna.

For almost half a century, she wrote about life at Årsta farm.
About work and rest.
About weather, harvests, people and celebrations.

We move from the pulse of the square into a calmer landscape.
Past 20th-century housing, older cottages and further down into Årsta Forest – where paths and views still bear traces of what she once described.

Here, history becomes concrete.
Not through great events – but through what is repeated every day.

The walk ends in Storängsparken, where the story of slåtteröl (harvest ale) takes shape – a reminder of how work and celebration were once closely linked.

This is what you will experience:

🌿 Årsta Square and the area's characteristic 20th-century architecture

🌿 Traces of older cottage environments and life outside the city center

🌿 Walk through Årstaskogen nature reserve
