More about the tour
Santa Walk in the Old Town
An atmospheric city walk in the winter darkness
Experience the quiet and magical Christmas atmosphere in the Old Town, where cobblestones and worn alleys light up in the glow of lanterns.
Join a atmospheric Christmas walk in Stockholm's oldest quarter, where history, traditions and winter lights are interwoven.
We wander through alleys shrouded in darkness and decorations, and let the stories take place at a leisurely pace. When the city slows down, the presence of Christmas becomes most evident.
Christmas stories – from ancient times to tradition
During the walk you will hear about the Vikings' Christmas celebration, about how midwinter and community were celebrated long before Christianity reached the Nordic countries.
We also talk about the nativity scene and Lucia – traditions with Catholic roots that over time have become obvious parts of the Swedish Christmas.
Along the way, we step into historical environments where beautifully painted ceilings, old tiled stoves and sturdy ceiling beams are reminiscent of an Old Town where Christmas has been celebrated for centuries.
A walk in light, darkness and stillness
When the evening darkness envelops the alleys and the lanterns are reflected in the stones, a special atmosphere arises.
That's when the city feels most alive – and closest.
The walk ends with homemade non-alcoholic mulled wine and organic gingerbread cookies, which we enjoy under the starry winter sky.
Welcome to experience the magic of Christmas on Stockholm's most historic streets.
